Nicolas Waldo was born  1º January, 1980 on Bogota, Colombia. He studied Piano with a personal instructor on 1991; Drums on "Fuego Juvenil" Academy on 1994 and musical  theory on the "Sinfonica Juvenil de Colombia" on 1996. Nicolas was graduated on the El Bosque University like professional musician and Sound engineer on 2005.

 

Now, Nicolas Waldo is a Guitarist,Keyboardist, producer, composer and Educator. He plays guitar, drums,bass, keyboards and composes for his personal project "Nicolas Waldo" (Instrumental Fusion) and other side projects.

His compositions incorporate a diverse amount of musical elements, which include; improvised solos, odd meters, polyrhythms, classical harmony, classical counterpoint, jazz harmony, modern harmony, dense orchestration  and outlandish song forms.

 

On 2002, Nicolas formed his solo project (valid today) and he has recorded more than 10 personal productions (Full length albums, EP albums and Singles). He has recorded over 15 albums on collaboration (Energema, Fire Lineage, Vorpal nomad, Evainc , Andros Duke,etc).

 

As a teacher and writter, Nicolas has produced  three Guitar Methods and he made part of the staff of teachers at institutions like: FUNDACION ARTISTICA GENTIL MONTAÑA, INSTITUTO CANZION COLOMBIA, FREEDOM MUSIC AND ARTS, TALLER DE ARTE, IAM  and  currently Nicolas has his own Guitar Academy called GT ART GUITAR ACADEMY.

 

Nicolas has also been live session musician from some "Gospel" artists such as Danilo Montero from Guatemala, Jerry Marquez from Mexico, Michael Rodriguez and Yamil Ledesma from Puerto Rico.

 

Nicolas worked with ESP GUITARS JAPAN as official artist (2007 - 2008); VOGEL GUITARS (2009-2011); JOYO TECH (2013 - 2015) and DEAN GUITARS U.S.A. (2012 – 2014)

Nicolas worked with the power metal band VORPAL NOMAD (2010-2014) . This band recorded 2 productions (The Spirit Machine - 2010 é Hyperborea (2012) and 2 singles (Jack or Lantern (2011) and Hocus Pocus (2012)). These albums were produced by Piet Sielck famous German producer of bands like Blind Guardian, Iron Savior, Gamma Ray., and Matt Smith, leader and vocalist of the Christian band , Theocracy.

 

Vorpal Nomad on 2012, was signed by the record label METALODIC RECORDS of Canada (http://www.metalodic.com) and the band has shared the stage with international groupings like Grave Digger from Germany; WarCry and Saratoga from spain.

Like side project, Nicolas working with the Power Metal Band ENERGEMA , signed by METALISM RECORDS from Russia. ENERGEMA have three studio albums "The Lion´s Forces" , "World Of Zionix" & #Eternal War" and one EP Christmas Album called "The Magic Wardrobe".

Now, Nicolas Waldo is working in his new album 2019 entitled VITAL ELEMENTS. This album is different to previous albums, with elements of modern jazz-rock fusion elements and improvisation section on piano and guitar interpreted by Nicolas.
